About Us

Throughout Racine County, hundreds of programs are offered to elementary, middle and high school students. Programs take place in schools, churches, child care centers, nonprofit organizations, community centers, or local businesses. They cover a wide range of activities including homework assistance, academic skill development, fine arts experiences and recreation.

Most programs are not “at capacity” in terms of number of participants, and most report being able to handle more if the demand is there. More than half of students say they are not participating in any type of afterschool program. That's why the Racine County Afterschool website was created by United Way of Racine County in 2009. In partnership with local organizations, we strive to connect students, parents and other youth-focused professionals with such programs.
